Portfolio

With over 10 years of professional experience making videos for universities, nonprofits, ad agencies, and businesses of every size, there are just too many videos to watch all of them. So here’s a small sample of my favorites, and the most recent and relevant to demonstrate the types of work I do regularly. Contact me to see more, I’m always happy to send along additional work samples tailored to your specific project.

Weyerhaeuser

Over the last 5 years, I’ve worked with Red Element Studios to direct and edit a range of videos for this legendary timber company, a member of the Fortune 500 and a pioneer of sustainable forestry. I visited farms, timberlands, and mills all across the United States, and interviewed employees of every level at the company, capturing heartfelt testimonies of the authentic cultural values that this company practices every day. I directed their flagship brand video in 2018, garnering tears of pride from employees and their families, and tens of thousands of views online. Since then, I’ve been regularly editing high-profile videos about the company’s values and sustainability goals, as well as a series of recruitment videos for social media.

Pike Place Market

Since 2020, I’ve worked with Waka Waka Studios to concept and edit broadcast commercial spots for Pike Place Market, a historic cultural institution that attracts more than 10 million visitors every year, and a development authority that represents the interest of more than 200 small businesses. Over the past few years, we’ve produced about a half-dozen spots every quarter, seeing Pike Place Market through the pandemic, and meeting the challenge of courting business back to brick-and-mortar retail while balancing economic need with social responsibility.

TEDx and Sponsors

Over the past few years, I have worked with Red Element Studios on various video deliverables for the annual TEDx Seattle series: from setting up and operating cameras for the talks themselves in 2018 and 2019, to editing branded content for TEDx sponsors including Comcast, WSECU, Segway, and Microsoft in 2020.

Roles: Editor, Camera Operator

Glue

For the 2023 re-brand of teambuilding platform Glue (previously an event planning startup known as Mystery), I worked with Waka Waka Studios and the client’s Marketing Director, to concept, write, and edit this brand identity launch video. Steering away from the quirky-edgy humor that has become cliche in tech advertising, we delivered a video that was earnest, sincere, and succinct—setting a tonal benchmark for the company’s new brand voice.

UW / Global Innovation Exchange

Since 2015, I’ve worked with the administrators of the Master’s program in Human Computer Interaction and Design (MHCI+D) at the University of Washington, as well as multiple programs at the Global Innovation Exchange (a UW-Microsoft partnership) to film and edit multiple series of videos: documentaries showing students work in the programs, overviews of course content and admissions procedures, student and faculty presentations, fireside chats, and other informational talking heads. Since relocating to New York, I’ve also been teaching remote workshops on video production for the students in these programs.

Roles: Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Guest Lecturer

Fortive

Since 2017, I have worked with Red Element Studios to produce dozens of high-profile videos for the Fortive corporation, an industrial technology giant in the S&P 500 with over $7B in annual revenue. I developed the creative and wrote the script for their flagship brand identity video, as well as several series focused on internal brand-building, company culture, and recruitment.

Roles: Director, Editor, 2nd Camera Operator

Vontier

When Fortive’s automotive and transportation-focused companies merged to create a separate brand, Vontier, in 2019, I wrote and directed the launch videos at the center of the new company’s brand identity. For the shorter teaser video, we had to rely heavily on stock footage, so I devised a black-and-white treatment to make the stock feel more cohesive, with a branded-teal blaze symbolizing the combination of Fortive (green) and Danaher (blue), leading to the logo reveal. This creative concept makes up Vontier’s visual identity in video communications to date.

Roles: Writer, Director, Editor

Osborn Consulting, Inc.

In 2022, I edited this series of videos for JKC Video and their client Osborn Consulting Inc., showcasing their mission and six core values by combining employee testimonials and b-roll around the office. Straightforward and professional, these videos delighted the client and won a Telly award.

Bloodworks Northwest

Working for Waka Waka Studios, I’ve edited promotional pieces, event videos, and social media spots for Bloodworks Northwest— including Music’s In Our Blood events featuring Sofi Tukker, and The Residency, as well as informational outreach videos about the blood donation process.

Evelo Electric Bicycles

Since 2015, I’ve worked direct-to-client with Evelo to produce and edit dozens of videos, ranging from assembly videos and instructional content to promotional product videos and social media ads. As the company has grown from a grassroots startup to a national brand, I’ve adapted and grown alongside them, from editing fundraising videos with their CEO and filming videos myself, to working with Marketing Directors and additional videography teams to remote-produce location shoots across the US.

Roles: Editor, Cinematographer, Producer
